Rare News - BCR Winter Sparkle, This Snow is Royal

A son of Rare News, si 92 (by All-Time Leading Sire First Down Dash)

out of a daughter of champion & leading sire This Snow is Royal.

His female family, for generations, is built on the genetics

of outstanding stakes winning & stakes producing mares.

PEDIGREE           RARE NEWS          MATERNAL FAMILY

GRANDSIRES & GRANDDAMS          ELIGIBILITIES

all about fast is a beautiful big colt with a nice blaze and a "lucky" left rear sock. He's put together like a grandson of First Down Dash and This Snow is Royal should be -- good bone and muscle, a deep chest, great hip, good legs and nice angles. He has a real "presence" about him.

ALL ABOUT FAST's big 16 hand dam is unraced. An x-ray of BCR Winter Sparkle's knee at 2 showed a bit of arthritis from an injury as a yearling, so Billingsly Creek Ranch elected not to put her in race training.

BCR Winter Sparkle is the dam of two living foals, Jessa Royal Snow (by Pretty Boy Perry), 2007, and this colt by Rare News.

His maternal granddam, is the beautiful stakes winner BCR BEAT THE LIGHT, si 96 (by Dash Thru Traffic), 3 wins at 2 and 3, $23,945, winner of the Boise Derby, 2nd Idaho Cup Derby-G3, Finalist in the Golden State Futurity-G1. Dam of 5 foals, 1 to race, 1 winner, 1 ROM, including BCR Tres Equis, si 102 (by Tres Seis), 4 wins at 3, 2007, $17,527, 2nd Idaho Cup Derby.

ALL ABOUT FAST'S 3rd dam is multiple stakes winner BCR CINDY LOU, si 95 (by Murrtheblurr TB), 10 wins at 2 and 3, $55,936, Superior Race Horse, Idaho QHBC Centennial Derby, American-Canadian Futurity,  new track record 300 yards in 0:15.4, American-Canadian Derby, 2nd Triple Crown Futurity, 3rd High Country Derby, finalist Boise Derby. Sister to BCR Cindy Sue, si 101, $39,989, Superior Race Horse, Northwest Hi-Point Three-Yr-Old Filly, Evergreen Derby, etc.; half-sister to BCR Really Cool, si 104, $69,236, Superior Race Horse, Bitterroot Quarter Horse Derby-G3, etc. BCR Cindy Lou is the dam of 11 foals, 11 to race, 11 winners, 11 ROM, 4 stakes winners, 1 stakes-placed, with earnings of $204,286. (Of her 10 foals to race, 6 have speed indexes of 100 or better, three 93 to 99, and just one less than 90.) Her offspring include:

  •    BCR JUST DO IT, si 109 (by Dashing Val), 10 wins 2 to 5, $56,204, Superior Race Horse, Northwest Hi-Point Three-Year-Old Gelding, Northwest Hi-Point Aged Gelding, ROM in racing and chariot racing, winner Portland Meadows Derby, new track record 400 yards in 0:19.860, QHBC Northwest Classic Futurity, 2nd All Canadian Futurity of Alberta-G3, Boise 440 Championship, QHBC, Northwest Classic Derby, 3rd Idaho Cup Derby-G3, Finalist Idaho Cup Futurity-G3, Boise Derby-G3, etc. Set new track record at Les Bois Park, 440 yards in 0:21.380. Set new track record at Portland Meadows, 400 yards in 0:19.960.

as if that isn't enough blacktype, All About Fast's (we call him "Oscar") 4th dam, BCR Cinders Key, si 92 (by Kingdom Key), is both a stakes winner and multiple stakes producer. From five starts she had 4 wins (1 stakes win) and one 2nd. She won the Idaho QHBA Futurity. BCR Cinders Key is the dam of 15 foals, 14 starters, 11 winners, 12 ROM, with earnings of $300,444. Grand Sires & Dams

L to R—First Down Dash, Shiney Miles, This Snow is Royal, BCR Beat The Light

By "lucky left rear sock" I mean that a rear left sock seems to be key

in luck & success in some of the "great ones."

Take a look at Champions First Down Dash & This Snow is Royal,

for instance. Neither this colt's sire nor dam have any white on their legs,

yet he has a white left rear like both his grandsires!

Rare News, si 92, by All-Time Leading Sire First Down Dash out of Shiney Miles, si 94 (by Magical Mile TB).

Rare News is a horse with lots of body, beauty and intelligence. This powerful, thick-boned horse was a multiple graded stakes performer at Los Alamitos. He had two wins and was three times 2nd. Rare News was a finalist in the Kindergarten Futurity-G1 (placed 5th), Governor's Cup Futurity-G1, and MBNA America California Challenge Championship-G2. Rare News was also a finalist in the PCQHRA Handicap and the San Diego Handicap. He earned $43,758 on the track. Rare News defeated the likes of many racing greats, such as 2005 Champion Aged Mare Mini Rock, si 102 ($439,979)!

His first foal crop are 3-year-olds of 2008. With 6 foals to go to the track (4 in 2007, 2 so far in 2008), Rare News has 6 foals that have finished in the money, 6 race ROM, 3 winners (one with a speed index of 99), 3 stakes finalists and 1 stakes-placed horse!

Rare News has a wonderful, kind disposition. He is a beautiful stallion, calm and easy to handle. He has a very good mind. His conformation is practically flawless. He is an exceptionally handsome individual with excellent bone, strong feet, and a lot of muscle and body. Rare News's pedigree rivals that of any of the top speed-bred stallions today. His is a strong foundation pedigree of champion sires and stakes producers.

Rare News has all that it takes to sire beautiful, correct, good-minded, fast foals. He is a stallion of substance and rare quality.
