This big colt, named Brandsness, is something special! He has great bone and muscle, a big hip, a deep heart girth and strong legs. He has beautiful, kind black eyes. Brandsness is intelligent, trusting and trainable -- and confident. He almost seems to know who is is and what he was bred for. He shows that he has a lot of "want to" in all he does.

Brandsness is by Champion Hawkinson, si 99, a leading sire by First Down Dash, si 105. He is out of A Terra Chick, by Chicks Beduino, si 104. Brandsness comes from the best genetics in Quarter Horse racing and from the bloodlines of Champions. He has a very exciting and promising future ahead of him!

We purchased his dam, A Terra Chick, from Sharon Brandsness. Since that time, she has become a good friend with sound advice and wisdom from many years in the Quarter Horse business. Because of all the help she's given us (we would have never "found" our stallion, Rare News, if it hadn't been for her), we have chosen to name this exceptional colt after her. (We could only name a very intelligent, very superior colt after someone like Sharon Brandsness — and this colt is definitely that!)

a terra chick is unplaced from two starts at 2 at Los Alamitos. She is by Chicks Beduino, si 104, one of Quarter Horse racing's greatest racehorses and racehorse sires. Chicks Beduino is a leading sire of winners, money earnings and stakes winners, as well as being a leading broodmare sire. Brandsness is A Terra Chick's second foal (her first foal, a 2-year-old filly, will race in Canada in 2007; her third is a handsome 2007 colt by Rare News).

Brandsness's dam is a 3/4 sister to Chicks Got Pazazz (Chicks Beduino-Terresto's Pazazz TB, Terresto), currently ranked among the top leading dams of stakes winners and money earners in the AQHA world. She has 15 foals, 11 starters, 7 winners, 9 ROM. She's dam to the almost unbeatable multiple champion A Ransom ($1,079,556), Righteous Brother, si 98, stakes winner ($210,964), A Sisstar, si 95, stakes winner ($117,334), Ah Commotion, si 91, stakes winner, $74,168, and more.

second dam Terra Miss TB (by Terresto) has a record of 8 wins to 5 with race earnings of $183,075, and progeny earnings of $151,580. She was winner of the E.B. Johnston Memorial Stakes, Bangles and Beads Stakes, 2nd Pio Pico Stakes, 3rd Railbird Stakes and Las Madrinas Handicap. She is dam of 7 TB foals, 6 starters, 6 winners, and dam of 2 Quarter Horse foals. Terresto, her sire, earned $76,883 on the track, with progeny earnings of $3,129,963.

THIRD DAM Go Miss Go TB (by Ready Say Go) had 4 wins at 4 and earned $39,675. She won the Lady Morvich Stakes. She is dam of 10 foals, 5 starters, 5 winners, including Terra Miss (above), Western Mandate (by Mandate), 14 wins, $115,551, winner of the James Herbuveaux Mile H., 3rd in the Turf Paradise Handicap. Go Miss Go is the dam of No No Danielle (by Agitate), race winner and dam of 12 foals to race, 11 winners, including Western Mandate is the dam of Toll Booth Willie, 12 wins, $444,118, Rockchalk Jayhawk, 6 wins, $351,032, QUEEN CORRINA, 10 wins, 2 to 6, $267,770, 1st Irving Distaff S, Miller Lite Stakes, etc., Findaway, 5 wins, $136,988, MIKDUN, 6 wins, $66,454, 1st Klondike H., and other winners and stakes placers.

brandsness was born to run. He is exciting and full of promise! He has standout conformation, excellent bone and muscle and beautiful straight legs. He is a growthy, bold colt with a great personality — full of himself, full of life, and ready to learn everything right now!

this outstanding colt is offered for sale as a race prospect. He is priced at $10,000. Brandsness sells with a FREE 2008 breeding (for an approved mare) to the exciting First Down Dash sire, Rare News, si 92.  Contact us for more information about this colt.
