CHARLYS OFFSPRING |
|
 |
|
|

Charlys Ragtime Band, a daughter of
Band of Azure, si 98, is
beautiful, kind-eyed, unraced brown mare.
She is dam to five foals.
Her oldest had three starts (one second and one
third) and earned a speed index of 88 on the track.
Her second is a four-year-old doing very well
in barrel training in Arizona, her
third, Band of Sambaso, si 95, currently has 3
wins and one 2nd from 7 starts (2007). The fourth is an outstanding
2006 filly by Rare News. Her fifth
foal (by Rare News, also) is a beautiful 2007 filly.
Charly's dam,
Its Gotta Be Charley,
si 105 (by Too Tidy), is a stakes winner from Boise, ID. In
11 starts, Its Gotta Be Charley had 7 wins, 2
seconds, and 1 third. Blane Schvaneveldt stood Band of Azure
in Boise in 1996, and Charlys Ragtime
Band was the product of two outstanding horses.
SECOND
dam, Town Of Plenty, si 86 (by
Little Town, si 100) was a race wi nner and a
stakes producer. She was dam of 7 foals, 3 to
race, all winners, all ROM.
THIRD
dam, Fair Nola TB
(by Colonel Mack, son of
Princequillo) was a four-time race winner in
Thoroughbred races. Fair Nola was dam of five horses to race, 3 winners.
Charly's pedigree tells quite a story
as it connects and crosses some of the
most valuable blood of Quarter Horse
racing history.
Her lines
cross at least four times to the legendary horse who
h as probably had the biggest
impact on the Quarter Horse breed, Three Bars.
Charlys Ragtime Band
is a beautiful, athletic mare --
and she has beautiful, correct, athletic,
good-minded
foals. She is correct and balanced. She has a big hip, beautiful
face, and is a nice mare to work with.
Charly
is in foal to rare news for a 2010 foal.
SOLD HERE 12-9-09.
Charly is going to a ranch in Texas. Congratulations to her new owner!

Left: Azure Te, the great Thoroughbred
sire, and Charlys Ragtime Band, his granddaughter.

The Offspring of Charlys Ragtime Band
2002 Chickadown Azure
(gray filly by Easy First Down)

"Chicka" completed the 2004 race season with
3 outs, a speed index of 88,
and a record of
0-1-1. She showed a lot of heart, a
competitive spirit, and speed. In her second lifetime out, she showed her
mettle and battled her way 330 yards to 2nd place, on Memorial Day at
Pocatello Downs. She earned a speed index of 88 and finished a neck
behind Kipella For Cash (by Kipadeucy). She came out of the gates a bit late,
but the gray filly showed her grit and competitive spirit moving to the head of the field, only to be edged out by a faster filly
in the last few yards. On her last out (a race in which she
placed 3rd), Chicka chipped her knee. She came home, underwent very
successful surgery, and is now a sound broodmare in
Idaho Falls, Idaho. She has a yearling colt, First and Gol, by Gol.
2003 DJ Sky
Soldier (brown colt by King of the Lanes)
"Soldier"
has been preparing for a career running barrels for sometime. He is
currently in Florida -- all 16+ hands of him -- and going great! He is kind
and good-minded, very fast and very willing.

2005 Band of
Sambaso (gray colt by Sambaso Dancer)
"Sambaso" was sold to some good people in
Nevada as a weanling, but right now he is in Boise, Idaho at the track for
his 3-year-old year.
Band of Sambaso, si 102, is now a stakes-placed winning horse.
He finished 2nd in the Gem County Derby.
From 17 lifetime starts, 4-year-old Band of Sambaso has a record of 3 wins,
4 seconds and 1 third. He's earned $11,490.

2006 Just A
Rumor (filly by Rare News)
"Rumor"
now belongs to a group of people in Boise, Idaho who are racing her in 2008.
From just 3 starts so far at 2, Rumor has a WIN, one 2nd & one 5th
place. Her speed index is 90 and she was a finalist in the Gem County
Futurity! Just A Rumor has earned $3,071.

2007 Blues News
(filly by Rare News)
Sold to some good people in Utah who plan to race her.
