 
Feature Mr Jess,
si 101, was an exciting stallion with the pedigree, race record and
production potential to be a leading sire for years to come --
unfortunately, however, he died February 25, 2009, at just 11 years
of age, due to complications of laminitis.
Not since the likes of First
Down Dash, had the Quarter Horse racing industry seen such a
young up-and-coming stallion that had sired three champions from
only four crops to race.

Brenda Feature, earned $539,327 on the track at 2 and 3 years of
age. From 16 starts, he has a record of 7 wins, 3-times second
and 3-times third. 1st-Rainbow Futurity-G1, 1st-Rainbow Quarter
Horse Derby-G1, 2nd-Dash for Cash Futurity-G1, 3rd-Remington Park

As a stallion, Feature Mr
Jess quickly rose to the top
of the leading sire lists. From
just four crops raced at the time of his death, he has sired 188
winners from 311 starters (60%), including
27 stakes winners (8%) and
three champions of eight championships. His get have earned more
than $9.2 million (with average earnings per starter $29,844).
In 2008, Feature Mr
Jess finished the year
second to his sire as the leading sire by money earned (more than
$4,000,000). He was also the fourth-leading sire by winners, the
eighth-leading sire by 2-year-old money earners and sixth-leading
sire of 2-year-old graded stakes winners. He was also represented
in 2008 by five grade 1 winners and three champions.

In 2008, Jess You And
I became the first Quarter Horse ever to eclipse the 21 second
barrier in a 440 yard race at Los Alamitos when he won the Champion
of Champions in :20.94 seconds.
In 2007,
Heartswideopen ran the fastest 440 yards ever by a filly or mare and
the all-time fastest quarter mile by a filly or mare when she won
her All American Futurity trial in :20.921.
