Nothin But
News (name pending with AQHA) is a nice big sorrel colt by
Rare News out of Decup (by racing champion
Rare Form). He has a nice
blaze, a good set of hocks, strong legs and a lot of power in his
pedigree. Within half an hour of his birth, this sturdy colt was up
and at 'em.
Nothin But News (we
call him "Leroy") is the pride and joy of his mama. Decup ("Baby")
has had some hard luck with babies. Her first foal, a colt
(4-years-ago) was born quite premature and couldn't stand and suck.
We milked this patient mare and tubed the colt, but he didn't make
it. Her 2nd foal, a filly (born 2-years-ago) had an aorta burst
while being born. "Baby" was so depressed over losing that filly
that she became very sick. It was almost too much for her to bear.
This big, strong colt by Rare News looks so healthy, so full of
promise -- and his mama is the happiest mare on the planet! She
adores her boy.
Nothin But News's dam,
Decup, had three starts at two, and
was in the money each of the three times with one second and two thirds. She
earned $2,510 and a speed index of 80 before
an injury in the gate on her fourth
start ended her racing career.
His
2nd dam, Sixy Baby, is an unraced
Streakin Six mare, out of
Baby Hold
On, si 109 (by
Dash For Cash).
She is a half-sister to How Special,
si 104, $119,995. Sixy Baby is dam of 11
foals, 9 starters, 5 winners, and 8 ROM, including Raise A Sixy, si 97,
$30,240, 2002 Racing Northwest Hi-Point Aged Mare, Sixy Too, si 90, winner (dam
of Sixy Bee, si 90, 5 wins, $37,672, Solano Derby, 2nd Wine Co., Derby, etc.).

multiple stakes winning mare whose track earnings totaled $418,373.
She won the Alamo QHBA Futurity, Miss Peninsula Stakes, Jet Deck H., 2nd Dash
For Cash Futurity, Kansas Futurity, Las Damas S., etc, Set NTR, 330 yards. Baby

Silver
Goblin, si 105, to 4, $161,232-G2).

NOTHIN BUT NEWS ("Leroy") is a colt who
will have
some size and speed. Leroy has a lot of promise as a racehorse, but if he's
anything like his sire and dam, he will have the mind and athleticism to do just
about anything that needs to be done.
ELIGIBILITIES: Nothin But News is
eligible for Speedhorse Races,
Speedhorse Barrel Races, Bitterroot, Beehive, Rocky Mountain
Classic, Northern Plains Futurity, Kansas Jackpot, Iowa Double Gold,
