Kate is a very good-minded, easy to work with filly with a nice long stride and a lot of athleticism. She is ready to go back to the track this year -- or has the intelligence and soundness to be trained for barrel racing. She is not easily startled or bothered, she likes to work, and she is bred to race or run barrels (her broodmare sire, Roll The Cash) is well-known as the sire and grandsire of successful barrel horses.

Rare News, si 92 (by First Down Dash) was a multiple graded stakes performer at Los Alamitos. He had two wins and was three times 2nd. Rare News was a finalist in the Kindergarten Futurity-G1 (placed 5th), Governor's Cup Futurity-G1, and MBNA America California Challenge Championship-G2. Rare News was also a finalist in the PCQHRA Handicap and the San Diego Handicap. He earned $43,758 on the track. Rare News defeated the likes of many racing greats, such as 2005 Champion Aged Mare Mini Rock, si 102, ($439,979)!
