Only two horses have
ever been honored by being allowed to be buried in the infield at
Los Alamitos: Town Policy and
Charger Bar.
Go Effortlessly's granddam
is the great Hall of Fame Mare
Charger Bar.
Off the board only four times in a career that spanned more than six
seasons, she made 43 starts, all but 7 of which were in stakes
races. She won 28 races, finished 2nd 3 times and third six, earning
$495,437. The second richest race horse of her time, Charger Bar
amassed nine world and divisional championships from 1971-1974.
Charger Bar was the
undefeated world champion in 1971 with 7 consecutive wins. The filly
defeated reigning world champion and rival Kaweah Bar in the Chicado
V Handicap at Los Alamitos, trounced older horses in the Go Man Go
Handicap at Los Alamitos and was victorious by a half-length (her
shortest margin of victory for the year) in the $100,000 Los
Alamitos Championship, where she clocked a :21.82, two ticks off
world champion Pap's stakes record.
At one point in her
career, Charger Bar won 12 consecutive stakes events, almost double
that of Easy Jet.
Charger Bar is a
sister to Pacific Charger, si 95 (dam of PACIFIC DREAM, si
100, Champion); half-sister to ANNA HI, si 113
($109.355, dam of JAZZING HI, si 111, Champion,
$317,916-G1). As a broodmare, Charger Bar produced 14
foals, including 12 starters, 10 Register of Merit earners and 10
winners, see above.
CHARGER BAR was foaled in Utah in
1968. Wayne Charlton was her breeder. He sold her to Dr Ed Allred
and Kenneth Wright as a 3-year-old, though he continued to train her
throughout her racing career. Her jockey was James Dryer. The great
mare died in 1997 at 29 years of age.

First Down Dash - Streakin
Six bloodlines. What more can a barrel racer ask for?
Regal He
Is (known as “Reggie”) is going to go far. He’s got it all –
top championship bloodlines – intelligence - athleticism – speed –
disposition. Click on video below. He’s paid up in the BFA in
Oklahoma, and eligible for his 5 year old futurity campaign in 2011.
His barrel training
has been slow, easy and consistent, after starting with some reining
work. Trained in both a small indoor and large outdoor arena, he
runs with just a snaffle in his mouth, no tie-down, moves off your
leg, has great bend, lateral and vertical flexion and stop. He’s in
the fast loping stage and already time-onlying at the 3-D level in
300+ rider competition.
He walks in and out
of the arena like a pro. Perfection and consistency are what his
training focus has been all about. He’s very kind, sweet and
personable, absolutely no vices and you can do anything with him.
It’s time for him to move on to his professional -futurity rider to
ready for the BFA.
