March 6, 2009 Chestnut AQHA Filly

Rare News - DK Give Alittle Bit, Separatist

Her sire is Rare News, si 92, a multiple-graded stakes

performing son of All-Time Leading Sire First Down Dash.

Her dam is a daughter of 3-Time Racing Champion Separatist,

out of a stakes-winning, big producing daughter of Zevi,

The Rainbow Riva, si 95.

PEDIGREE          ELIGIBILITIES

THE GIVER is an athletic and beautiful filly by Rare News, si 92, multiple G1 stakes performing son of First Down Dash, out of DK Give Alittle Bit, si 97, by Three-Time Racing Champion Separatist, si 101.

The Giver (we call her "Maddie") is a very well-made filly with some good hocks, a nice hip, strong forearms and a lot of attitude. She has a deep heart girth and a nice shoulder. She will likely be a dark chestnut, like her sire. The Giver has some odd face markings -- looks like she had a wide blaze and someone came in and erased a chunk of it! At least she'll always be recognizable in a crowd!

Injuries prevented her dam, DK Give Alittle Bit, from a promising race career as a 2-year-old. From just 7 starts, DK Give Alittle Bit was a stakes finalist (4th John Hoak/Capitol Futurity), earned a 97 speed index, and finished with 3 seconds and 1 third. She earned $5,606. No one knows how good this little horse with a big heart might have been. In all but her first start and her last start (when she was injured), she never finished a race with a speed index of less than a 90. In spite of ailments, she always ran with everything she had.

Her 2nd dam, The Rainbow Riva, si 95 (by Zevi TB), is a 4-time winner (in 6 starts at 2), with earnings of $20,049. She won the Cowboy Classic Futurity-G3. The Rainbow Riva is dam of 10 foals of racing age, 6 winners, 10 ROM, with earnings of $171,798 -- including:

  •   The Rainbow Rea, si 117 (by Dash Ta Fame), 8 wins, $77,906, 2nd Utah Classic Futurity-RG1, American-Canadian Futurity-G3, Diamond Classic Derby-RG3, and Mile High Maturity. Finalist Oquirrh Futurity-RG3, Silver Dollar Futurity-RG3, Utah Classic Derby-RG3, and she set a new track record at Sunray Park, 350 yards in 0:17.270. The Rainbow Rea is the dam of Reas Fast Man, si 95 (by Heza Fast Man), stakes-placed winner, $50,044, 2nd Four Corners Futurity-G3, 3rd Animas Handicap; Reacorona, si 106 (by Corona For Me), 3-time winner, $49,643, 4th West Texas Futurity-G1, finalist Four Corners Futurity-G3; and The Rainbow Style, si 92 (by Stylus), 2 wins to 3, $16,262, finalist Silver Dollar Futurity-RG2.
  •   Separate Rainbow, si 93 (by Separatist), 2 wins at 2, $39,620, 3rd Heritage Place Futurity-G1, finalist Remington Futurity-G1. Sire.
  •   The Rainbow Rivachic, si 98 (by Chicks Beduino), winner, $26,769, finalist Rocky Mountain Futurity-G3, AQHA Derby Challenge-G3 (5th place), Oklahoma Challenge-G3 (5th place).

he giver's 3rd dam, Watch Mighty May, si 92 (by Tiny Watch), is a 5-time winner with earnings of $4,766. She is dam of 9 foals, 8 to race, 5 winners, all ROM, including: The Rainbow Riva, stakes winner (above); Mighty Marcus. si 84 (by Doc Marcus TB), 4 wins, $14,474; and May Ramble, si 99 (by Sir Rambler), 7 wins, $10,894.

Fourth dam, May Day Rocket, si 95 (by Rocket Feller), had 6 wins in 11 starts to 3. She was 2nd in the Magna Downs Derby. May Day Rocket is dam of 10 starters, 6 winners, 7 ROM, including: Alamitos May, si 98 (by Alamitos Bar), 5 wins at 2 and 3, $27,230, Las Ninas Handicap, 2nd Lassie Stakes, Leo Handicap, Independence Day Stakes, etc. Alamitos May is the dam of Aladuino, si 99, 13-time winner, with earnings of $430,669, El Primero Del Ano Derby-G1, Governor's Cup Derby, Governor's Cup Futurity, etc. May Day Rocket is also the dam of DGR Easy Rocket, si 106 (by Easy Illusion), 7 wins, $14,660, Oneida County Fair Futurity, 2nd Pocatello Downs Spring Derby; and Tyson Illusion, si 93 (by Easy Illusion), 2 wins at 3, $5,120, 3rd Oneida County Fair Futurity, Teton Futurity.

The Giver is a really nice filly in conformation, pedigree, and bold attitude. She's very athletic and racy. She moves especially nice and she has great potential as a runner or barrel horse.

ELIGIBILITIES: The Giver is eligible for Speedhorse Races, Speedhorse Barrel Races, Bitterroot, Beehive, Rocky Mountain Classic, Northern Plains Futurity, Kansas Jackpot, Iowa Double Gold, VGBRA Program.

THE GIVER is offered for sale. She's priced at $4,500. Contact Circle D Horses for more information, phone (406) 745-3065, or email teri@blackfoot.net.

SOLD HERE 4-12-2010. The Giver will be going to the St. Louis, Missouri area where she will one day be a performance horse. Congratulations to her new owner!

Photos above taken March 8 & March 28, 2010.

Above: The Giver, at 13-months (April 2010), & Separatist, her grandsire.

Her body type is a lot like his.

Rare News, si 92, by All-Time Leading Sire First Down Dash out of Shiney Miles, si 94 (by Magical Mile TB).

Rare News is a horse with lots of body, beauty and intelligence. This powerful, thick-boned horse was a multiple graded stakes performer at Los Alamitos. He had two wins and was three times 2nd. Rare News was a finalist in the Kindergarten Futurity-G1 (placed 5th), Governor's Cup Futurity-G1, and MBNA America California Challenge Championship-G2. Rare News was also a finalist in the PCQHRA Handicap and the San Diego Handicap. He earned $43,758 on the track. Rare News defeated the likes of many racing greats, such as 2005 Champion Aged Mare Mini Rock, si 102 ($439,979)!

WITH A SMALL 3RD CROP that went to the track in 2009, Rare News is the sire of 16 starters, 15 money earners, 11 ROM, 8 winners, 7 stakes finalists, 1 two-time stakes winner, 1 twice stakes-placed horse, the North Dakota Horse Park 2009 Horse of the Year, and NDQHRA's 2009 Two-Year-Old Racing Champion, Little Love Affair!

Rare News has a wonderful, kind disposition. He is a beautiful stallion, calm and easy to handle. He has a very good mind. His conformation is practically flawless. He is an exceptionally handsome individual with excellent bone, strong feet, and a lot of muscle and body. Rare News's pedigree rivals that of any of the top speed-bred stallions today. His is a strong foundation pedigree of champion sires and stakes producers.

Rare News has all that it takes to sire beautiful, correct, good-minded, fast foals. He is a stallion of substance and rare quality.
