PEDIGREE          RARE NEWS         ELIGIBILITIES

The Paperboy is a big bodied, strong boned, correct son of Rare News out of Nifty Nafka TB, by Sir Naskra. Circle D purchased him as a weanling from Rocking Diamond B Ranch, his breeders, in Fort Benton, Montana. The Paperboy needs the opportunity to do what his pedigree and conformation says he was born to do -- run!

His dam, the big, gray mare Nifty Nafka, owned by Wendy and Dean Brandt (Rocking Diamond B), had 2 wins and was three-times 2nd at 3 and 4-years of age. She earned $8,760. Both Nifty Nafka's sire and dam were sprinters.

The Paperboy's 2nd dam, Cooing Lark (by Majesty's Prince) was a winner at 3 and 4 with earnings of $15,228. She is the dam of 5 foals, 4 to race, 4 winners, including: Ragin' Raven (by Sir Naskra), 13 wins, 3 to 10, $258,132; Lady Lark (by Sir Naskra), 5 wins 3 to 6, $105,620; and Lark's Song (by Prospector's Music), 11 wins, 3 to 6, $82,183.

His third dam, Cooing Dove (by Cornish Prince) was unraced. She is the dam of 12 foals, 11 to race, 9 winners, including Chocolate Kisses (by Matsadoon), winner at 2 and 3, $74,038, 2nd lady Sponsors' Stakes, Petticoat Stakes, 3rd Color Me Blue Stakes, etc.; Coo Se Coo (by Bates Motel), 9 wins, 3 to 7, $102,378; Bahala Na (by Sir Naskra), 6 wins, 3 to 7, $78,929, etc.

Fourth dam, Yanina II (by Inca Yata (ARG)), 10 wins in 13 starts at 2 and 3, 8,595,200 pesos ($43,079 USA), in Argentina, 1st Premio Raul Aristegui, Premio Miguel Luis Morales, Premio Hipodromo de La Plata, Premio Ecuador, Premio Jockey Club de Rosario, Premio Francia, Premio Jockey Club de San Pablo, Premio Gilberto Lerena. 2nd Polla de Potrancas, 3rd Premio Seleccion, Premio Marcos Levalle; 3 wins at 4, $22,305, in North America, Sent from Argentina to the US in 1968. Dam of 13 foals, 11 to race, 7 winners, including: Ice Tech (by Icecapade), 7 wins at 2 and 3, $270,921, 1st Honey Bee H.-G3, Harbor Place S., Constitution S., 3rd All Brand H.; Northern Heiress (by Nearctic), 6 wins, 2 to 4, $80,896, 3rd Tuscarora H. Dam of 13 foals, 9 to race, 5 winners, including: Ack Ack Heir (by Ack Ack), 5 wins at 3 and 6, $145,837, 1st Pomona Derby, 4th Affirmed H.-G3; Northern Style (by Ack Ack), 3 wins at 3, $109,320, 1st San Clemente S., 2nd Providencia S., 3rd Linda Vista H.-G3, etc. Dam of 13 foals, 12 to race, 9 winners, including Stylish Star (by Our Native), 6 wins 2 to 4, $481,250, 1st Del Mar Oaks-G3, Dahlia H.-G3, Autumn Days H., Las Cienegas H., etc.

Northern Style is also the dam of Stylish Society (by Forty Niner), a stakes-placed winner with earnings of $129,700. Stylish Society is the dam of 9 foals, 5 to race, 4 winners, including: Brownie Points (by Forest Wildcat), 7 wins, 2 to 4, 2007, multiple-stakes winner, $551,309, 1st Marie P. DeBartolo Oaks, Iowa Distaff Breeders' Cup S., Stoneside S., Remington Park Breeders' Cup Oaks, Martha Washington S, Cimarron S. etc.

The Paperboy's maternal pedigree holds a number of Thoroughbreds who have proven to be exceptionally strong influences in speed-bred Quarter Horses -- Nasrullah, Mito and Cornish Prince, for example. (From Cornish Prince, for instance, we get his son Zevi TB, and Cornish Prince is the dam's sire of Murrtheblurr TB. Both these Thoroughbred sires have proven to be excellent crosses on Quarter Horses and their daughters are exceptional, influential broodmares.)

The Paperboy is a very nice looking individual. He is tall and very correct. He has good feet, big bone, a deep heart girth, a powerful shoulder, and very nice angles. He has a great hip and a kind, intelligent eye. The Paperboy is confident and awfully nice to handle -- he demonstrates lots of intelligence. This colt, who seems to have a lot of speed,  has a nice, long, ground-eating stride.

This "Paperboy," a beautiful, big, gray Rare News son, looks like HE WILL DELIVER!

THE PAPERBOY is eligible for the Speedhorse Races, Speedhorse Barrel Races, Bitterroot, Beehive, Rocky Mountain Classic, Northern Plains Futurity, Kansas Jackpot, and VGBRA Barrel Futurity. He is Bank of America Challenge nominated.

THE PAPERBOY is offered for sale as a race prospect. He is a tremendous individual and everything about him says he should be a strong, fast racehorse. He's priced at $6,500 and sells with a FREE breeding to his sire Rare News (for an approved mare) in 2009. Contact Circle D by email or call (406) 745-3065 with questions or for more information.

SOLD HERE 7-31-08. The Paperboy will be going to the Boise, ID area & will race in Boise in 2009.

Congratulations to his new owner!
