PEDIGREE          THIS SNOW IS ROYAL          DAMS OF DISTINCTION

WIN PHOTO          OFFSPRING

This Babe Is Royal is a 2001 mare by This Snow Is Royal, si 101, and out of Dashing Proposal, si 92, by First Down Dash, si 105.

She has an incredible pedigree—a veritable listing of "who's who" among the great racing Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds of today and yesterday. Babe is double-bred FL Lady Bug, she has Dash For Cash twice on her papers, and Chicks Beduino, Florentine and Raise Your Glass appear there, too.

Babe's sire, This Snow Is Royal, is an AQHA Racing Champion and stakes winner. From six crops, This Snow Is Royal has sired 262 winners and 31 stakes winners with earnings of $8,895,186.

Babe's dam, Dashing Proposal (by First Down Dash) placed at two in races. She earned $3,146. She is dam to four foals, one to race, one winner, one ROM. Dashing Proposal died in 2003.

Second dam, Proposed Toast, si 95 (by Raise Your Glass TB) had four wins at 2 and 3. She placed 3rd in the Blue Ribbon Futurity. She is dam of 9 Quarter Horse foals, 9 to race, 3 winners, 4 ROM, including: Valid Proposal, si 102 (by On A High), 4 times winner with earnings of $131,104, Superior Race Horse, 2nd Kansas Futurity-G1, Finalist in Rainbow Derby-G1, etc.; Toasting The Heavens, si 92 (by Pie In The Sky), winner at 2 and 3, $11,551.

Toasting The Heavens is dam of 12 foals, 8 to race, 5 winners, 6 ROM, including: Toasting the Chick, si 108 (by Chicks Beduino), 5 wins, 3 to 6, $29,092, 2nd Turf Paradise Quarter Horse Championship; Heza Rare Toast, si 97 (by Rare Form), 2 wins at 3, $13,438, 2nd QHBC Sunbelt Juvenile H., Finalist in Kansas Jackpot Derby;  Glitter Galore, si 90,  3 wins, $18,328. Glitter Galore (by On A High) is the dam of 3 foals, to to race, all winners, 2 ROM, including Runningtofast, si 94 (by Crimewave), winner at 2 and 3, $29,622, Manitoba Speed Horse Derby, 2nd Prairie Gold-G3, Manitoba Speed Horse Futurity, Finalist Canadian Quarter Horse Cup Futurity-G2.

Proposed Toast, Babe's 2nd dam, is also dam of Cash Proposal, si 101, 4 wins, $16,429, Superior Race Horse, Finalist in West Texas Derby-G2, West Texas Maturity-G2.

Third dam, The Lady Bug (by Paul H. TB), was dam of 14 foals, 12 to race, 8 winners, 8 ROM. The Lady Bug is a daughter of the legendary mare Hall of Fame mare (and Dam of Distinction) FL Lady Bug.

Fourth dam, FL Lady Bug (by Sergeant) has been honored by AQHA as a Hall of Fame mare. She is the dam of 14 foals, 11 to race, 10 winners, 10 ROM, including Top Ladybug, si 100 (by Top Deck TB), 17 wins in 33 starts, 2 to 4, $195,973, AQHA Champion, Superior Race Horse, multiple stakes winner, etc., Ladybug's Moon, si 100 (by Top Moon), 11 wins at 2 and 3, $191,536, Superior Race Horse, stakes winner, multiple stakes-placed, etc., Lady Bug Leo, si 95 (by Leopie), 6 wins at 2 and 3, $10,152, stakes winner, etc., Barne's Ladybug, si 100 (by Mr Bar None), 6 wins at 2 and 3, $112,786, multiple stakes-placed, etc.

From six starts at 3 and 4, Babe has one win and one 3rd and an 93 speed index. In her limited number of starts Babe never had a speed index below 72. She is a gorgeous sorrel mare with a lot of class.

Babe, who was bred to be a broodmare, is an exciting addition to Circle D Horses. With at least four different "Dams of Distinction," on her pedigree, and with leading broodmare sires as sire and grandsires, she promises to be a very good producer.

Babe is the dam of an outstanding yearling colt (by Rare News). She just had her second foal, a filly (by Rare News). Babe will be bred back to Rare News for a 2009 foal.

The Quarter Racing Record, Nov. 15, 1983—

Proposed Toast takes consolation

Raise Your Glass fillies ran first and second in the $58,498 Heritage Place consolation, with Robert Moore's Proposed Toast getting the verdict by a neck. Tom Warren trains the winner and Roy Brooks rode her over the 400 yard course in :20.96 seconds.

Proposed Toast, who is out of the Paul H mare The Lady Bug, ran third in the Blue Ribbon Futurity last spring. After the Heritage Place consolation, Warren told The Record, "This is her first time on an off track. I was a little concerned about it, but it looks like she handled it alright! We're going to take her home and turn her out now. She'll go to California next year, then come back here and run in the Heritage Derby."

Second money went to A Toast To Mira, a Raise Your Glass - Miss Go Twist filly owned by Rex and Sue Cox, trained by Robert Dimitt and ridden by Buster Jones.
